That does sound neat! Lately I've been using Kevin's idea of putting the cord into the channel before sewing it shut. It bypasses the problem.

I while back, I found a cool tool at a fabric store- a flexy plastic needle, like 18 inches long, used to rethread the drawcord on a pair of sweatpants or a hoodie. Maybe 3 bucks, and very useful.

Another idea if you dont have Type I paracord, but do have Type III, take the insides out and just use the sheath.

Thanks, but, like I said, I can't take full credit for the idea. I saw someone else using it in a picture, but I can't remember where the picture was, so I can't give him (or her) credit.

I'm pretty sure USPS doesn't provide these envelopes in smaller sizes. At least, I've never seen them. But the DVD sleeves that Netflix uses are also made of Tyvek. Perhaps you could acquire one of them for a wallet.

This is a great original idea, I'm wondering if these envelopes come in small sizes (or I could cut one up), next time I'm in the PO I'll check; I’ve been trying to figure out some kind of waterproof lightweight wallet. I know Tyvek is not really waterproof but it might do the job.

Nice idea! Wonder if I can repurpose mail supplies here...

Instead of pushing the cord through the channels, maybe a less tiresome idea would be to put the cord in before stitching the channels up.
