		<description>Thanks for the tip. I&#039;ve heard about other people sewing with fishing line, but haven&#039;t given it a shot myself. It certainly would be cheap and strong, but my concern would be degradation over time due to UV rays. Any idea if that&#039;s a factor? It seems like the plastic would break down sooner than cotton/nylon/kevlar/dental floss. I&#039;ll have to try it out and see!</description>

If I might add one correction or change, I would take the sewing kit a bit further and replacee the thread with a length of braided fishing line - the 30# stuff is the size of 8# mono!  You can sew up just about anything with it from a rip in the shelter to your pants to stitching ol&#039; Bob back together plus use it for fishing line if needed.  Wonderful stuff and mostly thrown out at line change.
I also save it and use to re-stich any sheaths or covers that originally had cotton thread.
