		<description>Neal Stephenson is my favorite living author (he&#039;s in the top 5 when you factor in the dead guys, too). I&#039;m not sure which of his books is my favorite -- probably either Cryptonomicon or the Baroque Cycle.

I just started the first book of S.M. Stirling&#039;s &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Emberverse_series&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Emberverse Series&lt;/a&gt;. It&#039;s been a while since I&#039;ve settled down with some good, fun science fiction.

I haven&#039;t read Travels with Charlie. The Grapes of Wrath turned me off of Steinbeck back when I read that, but I think the book was a bit above my maturity level at the time.</description>

I love f. paul wilson, writes some great stuff, try out his repairman jack novels too.  

just getting done with the system of the world, love his books too, Cryptinomicon is still my favorite of his.
